A Pod Named Kickback

On this episode of A Pod Named Kickback, the conversation gets personal, reflective, and a little uncomfortable—in the best way possible. The crew talks about Mother’s Day from different perspectives, including what it feels like to navigate life and healing without a mother, and how holidays can hit differently depending on your journey. We also dive into self-care and regulation: what do you do when you’re feeling off mentally, emotionally, or spiritually? Whether it’s getting out the house, getting a haircut, spending time with family, or just resetting your energy, we unpack what keeping yourself together really looks like in real life.
We also touch on the growing conversation around Hantavirus, cruise ship concerns, and whether people should really be paying more attention to these outbreaks. Then things take a turn into the unknown as we discuss The Age of Disclosuredocumentary and the recent talk surrounding alleged alien/UFO files connected to Donald Trump. Are we alone in the universe, or has the truth been sitting in front of us the whole time? And finally, we react to the tragic story of two brothers who stepped in to defend their sister during a domestic violence situation and lost their lives in the process—a heartbreaking reminder that protecting loved ones can sometimes come with unimaginable consequences.
Short episode. Real conversation. No brakes.

What is A Pod Named Kickback?

I’m No Brakes Nu’, host of A Pod Named Kickback. I spent 20 years as a rapper from DC who has appeared on 106 & Park, MTV’s Direct Effect and became a legend in DC and the DMV for selling my CD’s out of the trunk of my car and making fire music and music videos that watched like short movies. Never forget. I launched my internet radio show in April of 2012. The last few years I switched it to an official podcast and on this podcast I discuss the biggest stories in pop culture, politics, music, sex, and sports. Some weeks I find one idea I’d like to discuss and solely focus on that. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I invite some of the brightest, most engaging and entertaining minds I can find to have these discussions with me on my virtual kickback. Don’t tell anyone but sometimes I invite listeners on the podcast too. I record live at 7PM on Sunday nights on youtube. As I come up on my 12th year of edutaining you I only ask that you subscribe to the vibe and tell a friend to do so as well. #NoBrakes
